How I work

If you touch one thing with deep awareness, you touch everything.

How I work

Hello!

I’m Sue Watson, an experienced physiotherapist specialising in craniosacral therapy. I use an integrated approach, weaving my interest in functional movement, breathing and the emerging field of somatics (feeling and sensing our internal self) to provide guidance towards balance and health.

I tailor sessions in a way I sense will work for you, encouraging curiosity about sensations and feelings you might never have noticed or that are deeply hidden, and about how it might all be connected - hence the name ‘Curiously Connected’

Craniosacral therapy sessions are usually undertaken lying down, fully clothed, using a lightness of touch. I provide a safe, contained space to explore what brings you for therapy where we may use words, but just as often it is the moments of stillness and quiet that allow the messages from your body to emerge into conscious thought.

I add value through education, reflection, exercise and lifestyle advice within my scope of practice.

Sue’s ability in marrying a deep understanding of how bodies move and function, the use of craniosacral ‘touch’ and very individual advice on exercise and strategies is a reflection of her passion and commitment to many years of trainings and practice.

My Framework

Upledger CranioSacral Therapy

A hands-on therapy connecting with the innate wisdom of the body, using light touch to support the release of restricted tissue patterns. The Upledger teachings also encompass skills to attend to the emotions that may arise during a session through SomatoEmotional Release.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Known for the profound effects that belie the lightness of touch.  A key aspect of this work is to connect with the health of system which is always present no matter how challenging the circumstances.  By bringing an awareness to how this feels can offer the possibility of health and wellbeing where it might otherwise seem impossible.

Integrating Physiotherapy

(As an HCPC registered physiotherapist) I will integrate the knowledge and experience that includes musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory and community-based physiotherapy where appropriate.

My experience

Whilst I have developed a special interest in pain, burn-out and depletion/fatigue I also work with a large cross section of other conditions across all ages.  My own curiosity about the conditions and experiences that present themselves has offered me a wealth of understanding into the medically unusual and unexplained. This is where working with health – available to everyone – can be more beneficial than the need to know why.

I am grateful to have had a rich and varied career in physiotherapy (NHS & private practice), and to have trained and worked alongside inspirational teachers in fields of craniosacral therapy in the UK and USA, assisted on Upledger and Biodynamic trainings, and on Upledger Community Intensive Programmes (UK) for PTSD.
